    Who can rent a vehicle?

    Apex vehicles can be rented by a driver who has an unendorsed driver’s licence for at least 3 years, as well as a credit card or debit card in the renter’s name.

    How do I book an Apex rental?

    You can book online at www.apexrental.co.za or call any of our branches closest to you to make a reservation.

    Can I use a temporary driver’s licence?

    A valid temporary driver’s licence may be used with the following supporting documents: ID document, Receipt for renewal of driver’s licence, Old driver’s licence if available

    What is a “waiver”?

    A waiver is an agreement between the renter and the rental company which limits the liability against the driver in the event of loss or damage of the vehicle. Waivers are not insurance. Where the renter is found to have been negligent, they would be held liable for the full amount of damage or loss.

    When is the vehicle inspected?

    The vehicle is inspected just prior to check out and again on return of the vehicle. Customers are encouraged to inspect the vehicle at check out.

    What payment methods can I use?

    Customers must have a valid credit or debit card or a valid voucher from a travel agent.

    What deposit is required?

    A credit card is required for the deposit. The rental deposit depends on the vehicle type and the duration of the rental. A deposit is held on the credit card in the event of loss or damage or additional costs such as e-tolls, additional mileage or any other charges that might have been incurred. The deposit, less the invoice amount, is refunded to the renter between 4 and 7 days after the vehicle is returned without any damage.

    What do I do if I am involved in an accident?

    In the unfortunate event of an accident, report the accident to Apex Vehicle Rental as soon as possible and to your nearest police station within 48 hours. If the vehicle needs to be towed, Apex must be contacted before then to ensure an authorised towing company is used. Details of third parties involved must be noted and photos can be taken to assist with the incident report.
